Authorities in Redmond have arrested two suspects connected to a series of thefts and counterfeiting incidents that stretched across several Washington counties, ending a months-long investigation into a complex criminal operation.

The case began on January 10, 2025, when Redmond police responded to a shoplifting call involving a woman who fled the scene. Detectives were able to identify her shortly after and discovered that she was part of a larger scheme involving counterfeit $100 bills used to purchase and resell tens of thousands of dollars in stolen merchandise and gift cards.

In April, surveillance footage captured the same woman and a male accomplice stealing from another store in Redmond. Investigators later determined that the man had a history of domestic violence and was wanted in connection with a separate first-degree assault case involving a firearm in Seattle. He was arrested by SWAT officers in May.

Detectives found that the male suspect had also violated multiple protection orders. After being released from jail, officers tracked him to a local hotel, where he was found with a loaded firearm, extended magazines, narcotics, and cash. He was arrested again and charged with several felony offenses.

On October 2, the female suspect was apprehended by a neighboring law enforcement agency following a vehicle pursuit. She now faces multiple charges, including possession of a stolen vehicle, forgery, theft, and endangerment with a controlled substance.

Redmond police credited the success of the operation to close coordination among multiple partner agencies and departments across county lines.
