A Seattle police officer shot and killed an aggressive dog this afternoon after it attacked a woman at Freeway Park in downtown Seattle.
Patrol officers responded around 2:50 p.m. to reports of a dog attack near the 600 block of Seneca Street. Officers found a woman suffering from injuries after being bitten by the dog. While attempting to control the animal, an officer discharged their department firearm, striking the dog.
Officers took the dog to a veterinary clinic for treatment, but the dog died. The bite victim sustained injuries from the attack and went to the hospital for treatment. This is an ongoing investigation.
