Police are searching for an individual who robbed a Puyallup bank Wednesday afternoon after displaying a gun and demanding money from a teller.

Officers were sent to Harborstone Credit Union at 3921 South Meridian after a report of a bank robbery. Bank employees told officers a person displayed a gun and demanded money from the teller. After receiving the money, the suspect fled the scene on foot.

Officers deployed a K-9 unit to track the suspect but were unable to locate them. Police said the suspect’s age and race are unknown. No injuries were reported during the robbery, and the bank was secured after the suspect fled. The incident occurred during regular business hours when customers were present inside the credit union.

The Puyallup Police Department’s Investigative Services Unit is actively investigating and will work with the bank to obtain video and photographs of the suspect. Surveillance footage from the credit union and surrounding businesses may provide additional details about the suspect’s appearance and direction of travel.

Police are reviewing evidence and interviewing witnesses who were inside the bank at the time of the robbery. Investigators are also checking for any similar incidents in the region that might be connected to this suspect. Witnesses are urged to contact the Puyallup Police Department Tip Line at 253-770-3343 or email tips@puyallupwa.gov. Anyone with information about suspicious activity in the area around the time of the robbery is asked to come forward.
