One person died and two others were injured in a three-car collision that shut down the exit to State Route 302 from westbound State Route 16, Washington State Patrol confirmed.

The crash closed the ramp completely. WSP Trooper Kameron Watts said investigators were working the scene with no immediate timeline for reopening. Westbound SR-16 drivers were advised to turn around at the Burley-Olalla interchange to access SR-302 from eastbound SR-16.

Two people were transported to a hospital with injuries. Their conditions were not immediately available.

Investigators said the suspected cause was failure to yield to oncoming traffic. The vehicle believed to have caused the collision made a left turn without yielding, according to authorities.
