A suspect has been arrested in connection with the killing of a transgender University of Washington student whose body was discovered in the laundry room of the Nordheim Court Apartments on Sunday night, Seattle police confirmed.
The 31-year-old suspect turned himself in to Bellevue Police before being transferred into Seattle Police Department custody, according to SPD Detective Brian Pritchard. The surrender came one day after investigators released photos of a suspect they had described as armed and dangerous, prompting widespread alerts across the UW community and surrounding neighbourhoods.

The victim, a transgender woman and UW student, was found dead inside the laundry room at Nordheim Court, an off-campus housing complex used by university students located near University Village and the Burke-Gilman Trail. Officers were called to the scene Sunday evening. The case was opened as a homicide investigation.
The suspect has been booked into the King County Jail on suspicion of murder. Detectives are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the killing.
The murder drew significant attention across Seattle and the UW campus this week, prompting Turning Point USA to cancel a planned on-campus event featuring conservative activist Chloe Cole, citing both the tragedy and a surge of threats directed at the organisation in its aftermath.
