A 17-year-old girl accused of taking part in the brutal robbery and assault of a 42-year-old man in Seattle’s Pioneer Square has pleaded not guilty. The plea was entered Tuesday at the Judge Patricia H. Clark Children and Family Justice Center, according to King County prosecutors.

Investigators say the teen, along with two men, attacked the victim late on August 6, stealing his shoes, phone, and wallet. Police reports describe how witnesses saw the group beating and kicking the man, continuing even after he had collapsed to the ground. Officers called the assault “absolutely vicious” and “one of the most brutal, unprovoked attacks” they had encountered.

The incident happened shortly after 11 p.m. near the 300 block of South Main Street. First responders found the man bleeding from his head and rushed him for medical attention.

Authorities tracked the suspects using the Seattle Police Department’s Real Time Crime Center cameras, following their movements through downtown until they were arrested near 6th Avenue and South Jackson Street. Video footage documented both the pursuit and the arrests.

The 17-year-old is currently on electronic home monitoring and is scheduled to return to court next Tuesday. The two men remain in custody, each held on $150,000 bail.
