A body discovered in the Snoqualmie River over the weekend has triggered an active investigation by the Snoqualmie Police Department.

A paddleboarder spotted the body around 12:45 p.m. Saturday near Riverview Park in downtown Snoqualmie and immediately notified authorities.

Recovery efforts were led by the King County Search and Rescue team and the Sheriff’s Office dive unit. The King County Medical Examiner’s Office is now working alongside Snoqualmie Police to identify the deceased, confirmed to be a male, and determine how he died.

“This is an active investigation,” Snoqualmie Police said in a statement. “We’re working closely with the Medical Examiner’s Office to confirm the man’s identity and piece together the circumstances surrounding his death.”

Anyone with information is urged to contact the Snoqualmie Police Department at (425) 888-3333.
