A 35-year-old Ardenvoir man faces multiple charges after deputies investigating a year-long series of property attacks discovered he had built a concealed shooting position on his back porch and used high-powered pellet rifles to strike neighbors’ homes under cover of darkness.

Chelan County Sheriff’s deputies executed a search warrant Friday at a residence in the 200 block of Arden Road after neighbors reported sustained damage to their properties from pellet gun fire. The attacks began in 2024 and continued for months, with investigators eventually linking 38 separate shooting incidents to the suspect’s address. Damage across the neighborhood totaled approximately $15,000.

The search revealed eight scoped pellet rifles in multiple calibers inside the home. Deputies also found what they called a “sniper’s hide” on the suspect’s back porch, a deliberately constructed concealed position designed to allow shooting at surrounding houses while remaining hidden from view. The setup suggested premeditation rather than impulsive behavior.

The man was booked into Chelan County Regional Justice Center on charges including first- and third-degree malicious mischief, harassment, and reckless endangerment. The distinction between first- and third-degree malicious mischief likely reflects the varying amounts of damage to different properties, with first-degree charges applying when damage exceeds $5,000.

The investigation took months as deputies worked to establish a pattern connecting the scattered incidents to a single source before seeking a warrant. Residents had reported damage but struggled to identify when or where the shots originated until investigators pieced together the timeline and trajectory of attacks pointing to the suspect’s property.
