Tacoma law enforcement is investigating a deadly shooting that occurred Wednesday at MultiCare Allenmore Hospital, leaving one man dead and a woman injured.

Initial reports from the Tacoma Police Department indicate the incident began with a confrontation between the male victim and an unidentified suspect just outside the hospital. Authorities say the suspect pursued the man into the emergency room lobby, where shots were fired.

The woman, who was also struck, is reported to be in stable condition, according to police updates. As of Wednesday evening, no arrests had been made in connection with the incident.

The hospital has since implemented restricted access protocols, temporarily barring visitors. It remains unclear whether a full lockdown was initiated in the aftermath of the shooting.

Investigators have yet to release further details as they continue gathering information and reviewing security footage.
