David Williford, a convicted child sex offender and known animal abuser from Olympia, Washington, is currently the subject of an active manhunt after escaping from house arrest in May 2025. Authorities have issued a public alert urging the community to remain vigilant and not to approach him under any circumstances, as he is considered dangerous.

Williford’s criminal history is extensive and deeply disturbing. In 2015, police discovered shocking scenes inside his Olympia residence. The home was littered with evidence of severe animal abuse, including carcasses, starving pets, and bloodstained floors. These findings led to multiple charges of animal cruelty. He was eventually convicted of second-degree animal abuse and received a suspended sentence, a decision that drew criticism from animal rights advocates across Washington State.

While under investigation for the animal cruelty charges, Williford was also accused of sexually assaulting two minor girls over a period of several years. The charges originally included second-degree rape and first-degree child molestation. However, due to legal and evidentiary challenges, Williford reached a plea deal with prosecutors. He pleaded guilty to four counts of fourth-degree assault, significantly reduced from the original charges. The court sentenced him to a two-year suspended sentence, again on the condition that he maintain good behavior and comply with the terms of his release.

In May 2025, as part of his sentencing conditions, Williford was placed under house arrest and fitted with an electronic ankle monitor. It was during this period that he tampered with and removed the monitoring device. Once the device was disabled, Williford fled his residence, prompting authorities to issue a statewide alert and initiate a full-scale manhunt.

Law enforcement agencies are urging the public to be cautious and report any sightings immediately. Williford is believed to be evading capture and may attempt to disguise his appearance. He is described as a high-risk individual with a history of violent and abusive behavior, both toward animals and children.

Anyone with information on David Williford’s whereabouts is asked to contact local law enforcement or Crime Stoppers. Tips can be submitted anonymously, and rewards may be available for information that leads to his arrest. This case has generated significant public concern and underscores ongoing debates about sentencing leniency and post-conviction monitoring of sex offenders and animal abusers.

As the search continues, the public is advised to follow updates from official sources and avoid spreading misinformation online. David Williford remains at large, and capturing him is now a top priority for local and state law enforcement.
