A Seattle woman has filed a claim against King County Metro after she was allegedly sideswiped by one of its buses last month.

The incident occurred on February 13 at the intersection of Yale Avenue and Stewart Street. The woman, who was holding her phone while stepping into the crosswalk, was struck when the Metro bus ran a red light. She sustained a swollen right ankle, soreness in her left shoulder, and a cut on her finger.

Footage of the incident, which reportedly shows the bus running two red lights, has been made public by KIRO 7.

The woman is being represented by Davis Law Group as she pursues legal action.

In a statement to KIRO 7, King County Metro confirmed that its Bus Operations and Safety Divisions, along with the county’s Risk Management Team, have been made aware of the claim.

“Since a claim has been filed, there is no further information Metro can provide at this time,” the agency said.
