Three men are hospitalised, one in critical condition, after a shooting outside a Capitol Hill nightclub in the early hours of Sunday morning that investigators say followed a confrontation between a group of men and club security staff.
Officers were called to the 900 block of East Pike Street at approximately 1:10 a.m. on 18 May after reports of gunfire. Arriving officers found three adult men suffering from gunshot wounds and provided immediate aid until Seattle Fire Department medics took over. All three were transported to Harborview Medical Center, with two in serious condition and one in critical condition.
According to investigators, the shooting followed an altercation between three males and nightclub security outside the business. As the group left the scene, at least one of them produced a handgun and fired multiple shots toward the club, striking all three victims. The three suspects fled on foot before officers arrived and have not yet been located.
Detectives from the Gun Violence Reduction Unit are leading the investigation and are working to determine what led to the confrontation and the subsequent shooting.
