Authorities are actively investigating a shooting that occurred early Thursday in Burien, with one individual now in custody.

The incident took place along 2nd Avenue SW near State Route 509, where law enforcement from multiple agencies converged. Units from the King County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) and officers from the SeaTac Police Department were spotted moving through the area as the situation unfolded.

According to officials, the call to authorities came from a man who claimed to have shot someone on his property. Deputies responded swiftly, and one suspect has since been detained. The KCSO’s Major Crimes Unit is leading the investigation.

Police have established a secure perimeter around the site, with red tape placed near a motorhome, standard procedure for preserving crime scene evidence.

This latest shooting marks the fourth in a series of violent incidents reported this summer.

On July 3, a man was killed and another injured during a shooting near the Glen Acres Golf Course in the Boulevard Park neighborhood. Two weeks earlier, on June 18, a person was fatally shot while inside a car parked outside El Pique Restaurant on Ambaum Boulevard SW. Just days later, on June 20, a 16-year-old lost their life after being shot at a residence on SW 142nd Street.

Authorities have not released further details regarding the identities of those involved in Thursday’s incident or a potential motive, but the investigation remains ongoing.
